FSPCA PREVENTIVE CONTROLS FOR ANIMAL FOOD: Meeting the Requirements of a PCQI

Registration is closed

TGFA is partnering with the American Feed Industry Association for FSPCA Preventive Controls for Animal Food training later this summer. The training material was developed by Food Safety Preventive Control Alliance (FSPCA) and is the “standardized curriculum” the U.S. Food and Drug Administration recognizes as adequate for preventive control qualified individual (PCQI) training. Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a PCQI.

Instructor: Henry Turlington, AFIA director of quality, education and training

The course will cover:

 Overview of the FSMA requirements for animal food

 Current Good Manufacturing Practice requirements

 Animal food safety hazards

 Overview of the food safety plan

 Hazard analysis and preventive controls determination

 Preventive control management components

 Process controls

 Sanitation controls

 Supply-chain applied controls

 Recall plans

 

Who should attend?

Successfully completing this course is one way to meet the requirements for a PCQI. Participants should leave the training with a better understanding of how to create a food safety plan specific for their facility. Participants will be recognized by the FSPCA for completing the course and will receive a certificate.

When is the training held?

August 30, 2016 - 12:30pm-5pm

 - 12:30pm: check-in opens

 - 1pm: class starts

 - 5pm: check in to hotel room (a credit card will be required for incidentals, room bill will be paid by TGFA)

 - 6:30pm: dinner is provided at a nearby restaurant

August 31, 2016 - 8am-5pm

 - Breakfast is provided by the hotel

 - 8am: Class starts

 - 12pm: Lunch will be brought into the classroom

 - 6pm: dinner is provided at a nearby restaurant

September 1, 2016 - 8am-5pm

 - Breakfast is provided by the hotel

 - 8am: Class starts

 - 12pm: Lunch will be brought into the classroom

 - drinks and snacks will be provided throughout the course
